During iExperience Elnaz has been working on creating the dance for the production.
Elnaz started exploring dance and movement during a taster iExperience and then chose to opt-in to the next week and begin to create the dance for the production. During these workshops she has been making connections between the song and the dance we are creating.
Elnaz has demonstrated her capability by remembering the dance routine and her part in it. Elnaz has participated and contributed in the dance iExperience and in the production dance opt-in. She has shown her collaboration by sharing her ideas with other learners as well as listening to others share their ideas.
In the production Elnaz will be onstage as a flower. I’m looking forward to seeing her polished performance on stage at Ormiston Junior College on November 23rd.

During iDevelop (Literacy) Elnaz has been working on using questions during reading and during writing she has been doing instructional writing.
Elnaz has been exploring questions who, how, when, where, why and what during reading. As a group we read the book First to the Top by David Hill (from the school library) and asked questions about the book and Edmund Hillary’s story.Elnaz demonstrated her thinking capability and curiosity by thinking of questions during reading activities. Elnaz participated and contributed in many workshops on asking questions and showed her collaboration by sharing her ideas with other learners.
Elnaz has also been using instructional writing to explore how instructions are written and the details that are needed when writing instructions. She was able to help co-construct instructions for how to make a nutella sandwich with the group and then wrote instructions with a buddy about how to make a shape with blocks. Elnaz again showed her great collaboration skills while working with the group and with her buddy.

Elnaz demonstrated great curiosity by asking lots of questions and making accurate predictions. She also made connections with the new learning through experiments and being able to describe different processes.
During the experiments Elnaz managed herself while participating, making sure she was always in the right place at the right time, doing the right thing.

This term Elnaz has been learning to sequence and summarise stories during reading workshops.
Elnaz has been working to identify the beginning, middle, and end of a story, before progressing to summarise the story using this language.
Elnaz actively participated and contributed in many workshops, initially showing her capability of identify beginning, middle, and end parts from shared stories. Elnaz then worked collaboratively with others to help them to identify different parts of the story too.
After making connections and drawing on her own experiences, Elnaz was able to confidently apply her learning in order to summarise a self-chosen story using the language around beginning, middle and end.
