Dance Creation

Learner: Elnaz     Learning Coach: S Blake      Date: 11 August 2017
Learning Area: iExperience
Learning Area:  iExperience (The Arts, Dance)
NZC Achievement Objectives:   Level 1 The Arts (Dance)

  • Explore movement with a developing awareness of the dance elements of body, space, time, energy, and relationships.
  • Improvise and explore movement ideas in response to a variety of stimuli.
  • Share dance movement through informal presentation and share their thoughts and feelings in response to their own and others’ dances.
Learning Observed
During iExperience Elnaz has been working on creating the dance for the production.

Elnaz started exploring dance and movement during a taster iExperience and then chose to opt-in to the next week and begin to create the dance for the production. During these workshops she has been making connections between the song and the dance we are creating.

Elnaz has demonstrated her capability by remembering the dance routine and her part in it.  Elnaz has participated and contributed in the dance iExperience and in the production dance opt-in. She has shown her collaboration by sharing her ideas with other learners as well as listening to others share their ideas.

In the production Elnaz will be onstage as a flower. I’m looking forward to seeing her polished performance on stage at Ormiston Junior College on November 23rd.

Oxygen Experiments

Learner:    Elnaz           Learning Coach:  M Lennon              Date: 26 May 2017
Learning Area:  iExperience
NZC Achievement Objectives:   Level 1 Science:  Nature of Science:  Investigating in Science
Students will extend their experiences and personal explanations of the natural world through exploration, play, asking questions, and discussing simple models.
Learning Observed
During iExperience Elnaz has been learning about the properties and uses of Oxygen.

Firstly Elnaz learnt that all living things need Oxygen.  She showed great capability in being able to explain what it means to be living.  Next she participated in a range of experiments involving Oxygen.

Elnaz demonstrated great curiosity by asking lots of questions and making accurate predictions.  She also made connections with the new learning through experiments and being able to describe different processes.

During the experiments Elnaz managed herself while participating, making sure she was always in the right place at the right time, doing the right thing.
